VISUAL ARTS SOCIETY

The Visual Arts Society was founded in the late 70s by a group of creative art enthusiasts who formed an association to support and promote the arts in the Cayman Islands. The VAS Watler House Studio is located on the grounds of Pedro St James in Savannah, Grand Cayman, offering members and the public a base meeting point to participate in events, including open studios, short courses, and exhibitions. Watler House also houses the VAS studio kiln and offers firing/glazing services for ceramic enthusiasts.

Visit VAS on Saturday, 24 May during Cayman Art Week to see the Clay Expressions exhibition, featuring Tatiane Tibbetts, Alan Darvill, Aimee Randolph and more. Guests can view a display of finished pottery pieces as well as pieces in the creative process of being made with clay. There will also be live pottery wheel, slab roller and hand technique demonstrations.

A special treat this year is a selection of work from a group of First Baptist School students ages five to 11, which will be displayed in the main studio.
