    Cayman Art Week will return for a fourth year with five days of art exhibitions and events scheduled across all three Cayman Islands from 22 to 26 May 2024.
    Since launching in 2021, Cayman Art Week has worked with local artists and galleries to produce more than a hundred events that showcase the contemporary art scene in the Cayman Islands with open studios, pop-up exhibitions and gallery tours.

    JUNE 14, 2023 | Each year, Cayman Art Week features temporary exhibitions and pop-up galleries where artists can collaborate and show their work. This year, the Hub Gallery took over a former restaurant space in Camana Bay to present ‘side-by-side’, a pop-up exhibition with work by ten local artists.

Art lovers, some of whom were transported by buses on three separate tours over three days, had a chance to visit the surprisingly numerous local studios and galleries, some of which are tucked away in side streets in neighbourhoods dotted around Cayman.

    JANUARY 2023 | Surveys reveal an overwhelmingly positive response to Cayman Art Week 2022

    Following the second iteration of Cayman Art Week in June 2022, two surveys were conducted – one of participating venues and the other of attendees to the events - to assess the overall impact of CAW and to gather comments and suggestions for improvement. These results will be used to inform future planning.

    JULY 1, 2022 | The work of scores of local artists was on display at more than 50 pop-up events, exhibitions and open studios across the Cayman Islands during Cayman Art Week, which ran from 22-26 June.

    Each day, the event focused on a different area, with CAW West (West Bay and Seven Mile Beach), CAW Central, and CAW East, and buses brought art lovers to the various venues across the districts.

    After a successful inaugural year which brought together over 30 art venues for a week-long celebration of art, Cayman Art Week (CAW) is confirmed for June 2022. The annual event brings together art venues across all three islands. It seeks to raise visibility for the sector through a joined-up platform that connects art lovers and collectors directly with creators.

    This year, the five-day event will start on 22 June and run through 26 June. Following the model established in 2021, participating venues will be open throughout the week and each day, focusing on a particular area of Grand Cayman.

    Cayman Art Week boosts local art | Last week saw a whirlwind of art gallery tours, pop up exhibitions and live showcases of art in action during the inaugural Cayman Art Week. The collection of art-based events spanned all three Cayman Islands, involved 25 venues and saw 85 local artists participate. Studio bus tours took interested people around art studios in George Town and along Seven Mile Beach, while private tours gave art aficionados the chance to have a one-to-one with artists and delve a bit more deeply into what makes the artists tick.

    Art in the City was one of the most unique events to ever hit Cayman | On Friday, July 9, art lovers left their cars at home and participated in ‘Art in the City’, part of the inaugural Cayman Art Week, which began with live music, small bites, drinks and pop-up exhibitions at the event headquarters at Monaco Towers in Heroes Square, before patrons headed out on a curated bus tour on a complimentary shuttle supported by the George Town Revitalisation programme which explored 10 exhibits around George Town.

    PALM HEIGHTS HOSTS CAYMAN ART WEEK POP-UP | Caymanian contemporary glass artist Davin Ebanks and mixed media artist Nasaria Suckoo Chollette have joined up with the design-centric Palm Heights hotel in a pop-up exhibit for the inaugural Cayman Art Week.

    The pop-up is being featured in the Palm Heights vintage book shop at the entrance of the hotel.

    Project founder and creative director Natalie Urquhart is already well-known in the Caymanian creative sector, having to lead the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands for over a decade.
