FAQs

Cayman Art Week provides local artists and galleries a platform to connect directly with art buyers and collectors. The CAW team curates an annual week-long programme of exhibitions, gallery tours, open studios, and art events, which we promote to local and international audiences.

Each participant is responsible for organising and marketing their own activities. Cayman Art Week does not produce or manage individual events or exhibitions.

If you’d like to get involved in CAW24, please read the FAQs below and contact the CAW team at info@caymanartweek.com

CAW FAQs

  • How can I participate in CAW as an artist?

If you’d like to show and sell your work at Cayman Art Week, you can either host your own exhibition, seek a venue partner or collaborate with other participants. If a gallery already represents you, please check how they plan to participate in Cayman Art Week.

Pop-up exhibitions are typically produced by a third-party curator or by the venue. Either the venue or the participant must have the relevant trade & business licence to sell art.

  • How can I participate in CAW as a gallery or studio?

The Cayman Art Week team will request information on the artist(s), exhibitions and opening times so we can plan and curate the overall programme. Galleries and studios should be prepared to open regular hours throughout the week or by appointment, in addition to any special programming for their relevant district days.

  • How can I participate in CAW as a venue?

If you have space that can be designated for a temporary exhibition and can staff the exhibition during opening hours, you may be eligible to become an official CAW venue on our bus route. There is also an opportunity for hospitality or retail spaces to host Pop-up exhibitions as part of our fringe programme, which may not be on the bus tour but would still be promoted as part of Cayman Art Week. Please get in touch with the CAW team to discuss this further.

  • How can I participate in CAW as a sponsor?

Cayman Art Week exhibitions and events are free and open to all, thanks to the generosity of our patron and sponsors. If you are interested in sponsoring Cayman Art Week or a specific event, please do get in touch. We appreciate the support and like to recognise all contributions on our website and social media channels.

  • How can I participate as a hospitality partner?

Many hundreds of people attend Cayman Art Week events. If you would like to offer a special menu or discount during Cayman Art Week, please send us details and we will promote it on our website.

  • How can I volunteer/ join the CAW team?

Cayman Art Week is run by a small core team and supported by a larger team of volunteers. If you would like to help, please get in touch.

  • Can the Cayman Art Week team help me find a venue/artist/partner?

While Cayman Art Week does not organise any events or exhibitions, it is sometimes possible to connect artists with venues or exhibition producers, given enough notice. Please get in touch with the CAW team at least one month prior to Cayman Art Week.

  • Is there any fee to participate in CAW?

Cayman Art Week does not charge artists or venues to participate and does not take a commission on any art sold. Artists and venues should agree to share costs and revenue from sales.

  • How is Cayman Art Week promoted?

The CAW team publishes content on our website and social media channels, sends press releases to local and international publications, arranges media interviews and advertises on digital, print and radio.

We aim to promote Cayman Art Week as a week-long programme featuring local artists, galleries, events and pop-up exhibitions rather than to market individual events. We do our best to give fair coverage to all participants – the more information you can share about your event, the better.

  • When will the CAW team start to make plans for CAW24?
