jNATIONAL GALLERY OF THE CAYMAN ISLANDS

The National Gallery is the dedicated art museum of the Cayman Islands, with a mission to promote the appreciation and practice of the visual arts. They host a vibrant annual exhibition programme at the central Gallery venue and at satellite venues across the three islands, showcasing Cayman Islands artists and encouraging dialogue on cultural heritage, national identity, Caymanian history, and art history. NGCI is also charged with the development and stewardship of the National Collection of Cayman visual art, which it makes accessible to the public via outreach and educational programmes, exhibitions, youth programmes, events, workshops, school collaborations, publications, and educational lectures.

During Cayman Art Week 2026, the National Gallery is hosting several exhibitions, including Conservations in the 7th Dimension, which honours the artistic journey of Randy Chollette, a central figure in the art collective Native Sons and a pivotal contributor to the development of contemporary art in the Cayman Islands. As an artist, musician and educator, Chollette’s creative process synthesises the energetic, physical, and mental self through a lens of spiritual inquiry.

Presented in partnership with Cayman Art Week, Next Wave is an exhibition dedicated to showcasing the creativity, perspectives and talent of young artists aged 16-20. The exhibition features a curated selection of works across a wide range of media with the aim of highlighting fresh perspectives and innovative approaches from emerging artists at a pivotal stage in their creative journey.
