WHAT THE LIGHT REMEMBERS AT WHALE RIDER RECORDS

For Cayman Art Week 2026, Eleanora Alis Tofte and Bryony Dixon presented What the Light Remembers, a collaborative installation exploring light, material and resilience. Tofte, a Cayman Islands–based visual artist, works with handmade paper and organic materials, while Dixon, a multidisciplinary artist from Cayman, contributes photographic works drawn from both analogue and digital practices.

Installed across glass surfaces at Whale Rider Records, the pieces transform light into an active element, shifting throughout the day to reveal changing patterns, textures and embedded imagery. Together, the work reflects resilience as a fluid process of transformation, where memory, place and light continuously evolve.
